Multi-modal Transportation Planning
Master Thesis Proposal in Robotics and AI
The supply chain for SMEs in the northern region relies on multi-modal (rail, road, sea and air) transportation. Different modes have heterogeneity in terms of transportation time, price, and connectivity. The planning for a logistics adhering the delivery deadlines and minimum cost is crucial. The aim of this thesis is to provide a planner for logistics operations with multi-modal transportation.
One master thesis students can work this thesis with focus on logistics planner.
Different modes have constraints eg. Railways have specific schedules.
The algorithm should consider the uncertainty in the environment such as dynamic obstacles.
The project needs a good end demonstration with multiple ground vehicles and UAVs to illustrate her/his algorithm on real experiment.
The method should be implemented in ROS in order to be validated and directly placed to the real platform for experiments.
The participant has a weekly discussion with her/his supervisor in order to be guided.
